Note-taking and mobile phones are a match made in heaven. If you’re one of those who are technologically inclined and do everything in a smartphone, here are the 5 best note-taking apps for iOS and Android.

Note Daily

Aside from being a doc scanner Note Daily is a digital notebook, organizer, Task list and planner app, among others. You can encrypt your notes and files with passwords and add shortcuts to the home screen for faster access to what you need.

Note Daily works in both personal and professional aspects, as well as education. You’ll love how it works in so many different ways and allows you to get more done.

Penultimate

Penultimate works well with a digital pen tool for handwritten notes on iOS. It lets you scribble and even doodle and color them for effect. The app integrated with Evernote and has its own search engine for text.

Notion

Notion is a team and personal productivity hub, according to the developers. You can create shared or private ‘workspaces’ where you or your team add ‘blocks’ for files, images, text snippets, bookmarks and others.

As a task list app Notion works very well and is intuitive too. What’s worthy to note is that you can customize the workspace without ruining the other content in the document.

Google Keep

One of the best notes app around, Google Keep works very well in the Android environment and is fairly simple and easy to use. You can create a checklist, add photos and audio to your task list depending on what you need.

Bear

Bear is another do-all app that works as a document scanner and even for code. You can hand-sketch, make illustrations and add searchable text. However, you’ll need to pay for extra tools and to have the ability to export multiple file types.
