Spiders are infamous for being pesky creepy-crawlers who sneak into other people’s homes, but do they really deserve this reputation? In this article, we will reconsider this spider “character” and maybe let you in on a different and more positive perspective on these animals. Read more below to find out if you really need to kick out spiders in your place. With modern condos like The Serra Residences, state-of-the-art materials, construction and professional maintenance ensure a clean unit for a fresh start.

Why You Should Keep Them Around

Free Natural Pest Control: Arachnids, especially spiders, balance the delicate ecosystem of nature. Their diets include various bugs, some of which carry deadly diseases. By allowing spiders in your home, these creatures eradicate all potentially fatal insects like flies and mosquitoes.

Shy and Safe: Most spiders aren’t actually aggressive animals; they prefer to hide in the shadows and stay safe from bigger predators like birds. If you let a spider in, there is very little chance they will ever bother you.

Little to No Maintenance: As you generally cannot keep spiders as traditional pets, you do not need to care much for the creature because they are generally known as independent and solitary animals.

Why You Should Not Keep Them Around (The Exceptions)

Dangerous Types of Spiders: Dangerous or venomous spiders such as the Brazilian wandering spider or the Australian funnel-web should not be kept inside your home as they pose serious threats to those indoors, including you and your family.

Spider Webs and Silk: Although not a significant drawback, silk and spider webs can be bothersome if not removed immediately. Remember to dust and clean your house every once in a while.

Spiders Safely: Instead of directly killing it, which will attract additional insects, use a humble paper and cup, catch the spider, and carefully place it back outside so that the spider is back in its natural habitat again.
