Many popular fish such as kois and fancy goldfish come with complicated requirements that beginners may not meet. It’s unfortunate because the fish usually ends up dead or completely stressed. For the hobby to be enjoyable, you should start by finding sustainable fish that you actually like, and researching them, and finding a place for them in your Lucerne Grand condo. This article sums up the best fish for beginners to have.

Common Goldfish

Although it may need a tank of up to 20 gallons, the rest will be easy. This type of goldfish lives long, averaging around 10-15 years. But, like all other fish, they can surpass this border through proper care and space control, as they tend to grow quickly. These fish can adapt to different water temperatures, as long as it’s not in the extremes. Their slender and long shape makes digestive problems extremely rare, unlike fancy goldfishes which are typically round.

Betta

Bettas are able to live in small spaces, however, this doesn’t mean you should put them there. Ideally, these colorful creatures need around 3-5 gallons of space. What’s more interesting is, they don’t heavily depend on filters as they have a special organ that allows them to breathe air as well as water.

Guppies

Guppies need an approximate space of 10 gallons. They like to be kept in groups too. They can be compatible with different species as long as they have a similar size. Additionally, these are easily purchasable and there is a wide selection of distinct colors and shades.

Corydoras

These are typically presented as cleaner fish, but can also act as the centerpiece of your aquarium. This duality makes them twice as easy to care for, and they thrive well with plants. Corydoras or cory catfish only need minimal water change, as little as 10% every week. They are also known to be quite hardy, presenting their low-maintenance qualities.
