Infants’ bodies are yet to be fully developed; therefore, they are very fragile. Toys are a great way to entertain a baby, but we must choose wisely what we get, as some may affect them in their future selves. Parents should take the time to pick which toys they’ll be taking to their Dunearn House condo.
Durability
Babies usually have a habit of trying to smash stuff, which can lead them to our personal stuff or toys breaking quickly. Any durable toy will ensure they are busy, as they don’t really have favorites yet. Small stuffed toys work as well, as they are made tightly to ensure they do not rip.
Sharp or Pointed Edges
A hard toy can come with a high risk. Before ordering an item, it’s best to note if there are sharp curves or pointy areas from images or reviews. It’s recommended for infants to play with objects that have curved and safe edges, unlike toy trucks, which are more suited for kids.
Education
An infant comes to a world where tons of things can be learned throughout each and every day. Start them out with toys that give education to sharpen their minds, exploring skills, cognitive skills, etc., as they grow. Avoid too much stimulation by making sure the toy is used for short periods of time only.
Size and Material
If a toy contains small parts or is rather small itself, it’s better to look for other toys. Babies’ curiosity leads them have the tendency to bite into objects, especially ones that fit in their mouths, which could result in choking. Furthermore, avoid danger by ensuring the object is made of a safe material.
Age Appropriateness
Choose qualities or designs suited to the age of the baby. A young baby needs soft toys for more safety, or rather as a sleeping buddy(note that stuffed toys shouldn’t be too big, as they can be dangerous to babies), while older ones can start using harder toys such as teethers for practicing their grip and chewing.
